Description

19TH CENTURY SAILMAKER'S SEAMER made from a single piece of whalebone. Simple design but nicely made measuring 5" l. x 2" maximum width. Condition solid and good but does have a few different sets of initials lightly scratched on the handle and blade. Deep yellow age color throughout. Nice example of a real working scrimshaw tool. Circa 1830-40.
