VERY UNUSUAL PASTRY MAKING DEVICE that is made from whale ivory. In the form of an arm with a clenched fist that grasps an entwined serpent. The opposite end with 12 tines that surround a relief carved floral design. When used it would leave 12 holes and the floral design in a pastry crust. Overall length 5". Condition very good noting that one tine is repaired and the upper portion of the snake head also expertly mended. Fine age color throughout. Circa 1850. Very nice item.
