Whalebone Fid
Description
NICELY MADE WHALEBONE FID with the upper portion turned to resemble an inverted tulip that has a ring sheave above and a mushroom motif pommel. Very rugged specimen made from a single piece of 1 1/2" diameter bone. Overall length 11". Condition excellent. Circa 1850. Rare to find these working tools made this fancy.
