LATE 18TH CENTURY NAVAL DIRK. Stamped on the underside of guard with Francis Thurkle's silversmith cartouche "FT". The pommel decorated with a full Eagle head that's held in place with a large capstan shaped rivet. Guard with a turned-down quillion. Reed carved ivory grip. 13.75" straight, double fuller blade.. Overall length 19". Condition overall good retaining most of its original gilt finish. No scabbard. Circa 1790. Francis Thurkle died in 1801. Ex collection Norm Flayderman.
